This contemporary studio home in Pukerua Bay was designed by ETAL Architects and built by Build 2.0, combining architectural flair with practical functionality. Set on a bare site overlooking the Kāpiti Coast, the project marks the first stage of a two-phase development, with plans for a larger family home to follow. Build 2.0 became involved in this project right from the start, supporting the client immediately after she purchased a section in Pukerua Bay on the Kāpiti Coast. From the outset, she wanted something with architectural flair, so Build 2.0 introduced her to Hamish from ETAL Architecture, a collaboration that ensured the design phase was both creative and carefully managed.
Stage one of the project was to build a striking, functional two bedroom studio home with plans to construct a larger family home at the front at a later date. Once complete, the studio will be rented out and become a second income stream, offering the owner flexibility and long-term value.
The finished studio is a beautiful balance of practicality and style, featuring black Peter Fell salt and pepper polished concrete floors, warm ply ceilings and an open-plan living space that flows seamlessly onto a sun-drenched deck. Every detail was designed to maximise light, comfort and lifestyle while laying the foundation for the future family home.
