Full home renovation project in Levin
Levin makeover & renovation
Build 2.0 completed a full renovation of a neglected Levin property, transforming it into a modern, functional and fully wheelchair-accessible four-bedroom home. The renovation placed accessibility at the forefront, incorporating wider doorways and level-entry showers. Every element was thoughtfully designed to create a practical, inclusive home while showcasing Build 2.0’s expertise in high-quality renovations across the Kāpiti Coast and wider Wellington region.
This renovation project in Levin was a special one — it marked Build 2.0 Director Sam’s very first property purchase. While the home had good bones, it had been poorly maintained and was in need of a full refresh. With the help of a clever designer, the floor plan was reconfigured by relocating just one internal wall. This small but impactful change converted the original layout into a much more functional four-bedroom home, all within the existing footprint.
One of the driving goals behind the renovation was to create a fully wheelchair-accessible home. The layout was carefully designed for ease of movement, with wider doorways, a level-entry shower, smooth transitions between surfaces and a new front sliding door that opens directly onto a deck. Every detail, from flooring choices to spatial planning, was considered with accessibility in mind, creating a home that’s both inclusive and practical.

Wellington Renovation
Inside, the home was fully relined and insulated, and updated with a modern kitchen, new appliances, fresh carpet and polished timber floors. The original feature ceilings were retained to honour the home’s character while bringing the rest of the space up to today’s standards.
The exterior, including the roof, was fully repainted and a timber fence was added to enclose the deck and provide privacy.
The entire renovation was completed in just three months. After renting out the property for a year, Sam sold it, making a solid return that helped fund future projects. More than just an investment, this project showcased how smart design and quality workmanship can deliver a home that’s inclusive, efficient and full of potential. Contact Sam.
